Mike's seed biscuits
Extremely easy to make and up to you what goes into them.
Keep every ingredient reasonably small e.g. whole almonds are too big so buy slivered or flaked ones
Can add non-seed material e.g. dried fruit diced up
The secret binding material is called Flomix. See me for instructions on where to get it or I can get it for you
Preheat oven to about 180 degrees
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl by hand
Cover your baking trays with baking paper
Put a soup spoon of the mix into say a poached egg
ring, tamp down and remove ring and repeat. Alternatively
simply cover the entire tray with the mix and bake one large biscuit. This
must be cut up within
60 seconds of removal from the oven, preferably with a pizza cutter, before
it goes brittle
Bake for between 7 and 9 minutes. Just check and if
the colour pleases you take the tray out. You can bake
a bit longer until the biscuits go a darker brown. These then have a
different nuttier taste
Store in airtight container
DON'T use the quantity of Flomix that is recommended
on the packet. Far too sweet. Use the following ratio:
3 parts seed mix to 1 part flomix
My last batch was:
170gms almond slivers
80gms white sesame (black is fine too)
100gms sunflower seed
100gms pepitas
150gms Flomix
